Definition
Crawlability is whether a crawler can actually retrieve a page — covering robots rules, firewall and CDN behaviour, rate limiting, redirects and status codes.
Why it matters
Crawlability problems are invisible from inside a browser. The most common one on Chinese sites is a soft 404: a non-existent path returning 200 with the home page, which teaches crawlers that infinite junk URLs are valid pages.
